The
programme will start at the Grote Markt with a static exhibition billed
to run
from 11 am to 1.30 pm. The crowd will be able to admire the future
stars of
Belcar (Porsche, Audi, Ferrari etc.), the Belgian Touring Car Series
(KIA,
Volvo, SEAT, Renault, BMW, Jaguar, etc.) and the VW Fun
Cup.
But
cars are made to be driven!1.30
pm will mark the start of a demonstration on Bondgenotenlaan, Leuven’s
main
shopping street.Driving
at a (very) reasonable speed suited to the circumstances, the drivers
will
follow a short circuit of around 2 km taking them to Martelarenplein,
where
they will do a U-turn to return to their starting
point.This “demo” will last
until around 3 pm, when the checkered flag drops.
All
the cars will be gathered on Ladeuzeplein to undergo technical checks
and
remain on display until 6 pm.Drivers
and mechanics will of course be present, ready to answer the many
questions
that spectators will surely want to ask.
The
entertainment programme for these three hours will be
varied:autograph signings,
pit-stop demonstrations (tyre changing), VIP hospitality,
etc.
Some
sixty vehicles are expected for the Gordon Leuven
City Demo 2010. This unique event in Belgium will mark the kick-off of
a season
set to begin in earnest two weeks later on the Zolder track for the
Gordon
Finest
Race.
