In memory of John Martin’s Channel crossing to
settle in Belgium in 1909, Martin’s Pale Ale is joining forces with the third
edition of the Martin’s Nieuwpoort Channel Race, which starts on 11 July. This
race will be a new challenge for sailors from all walks of life all over the
world. This open sea race is becoming an unmissable event in European sailing
competitions, and for many Belgian sailors it is filling a long-time void. This
regatta offers two itineraries in the North Sea and the English Channel.
Meanwhile, there will be plenty of excitement for the
many tourists who stayed on dry land in Nieuwpoort, on the Royal Yacht Club’s
landing stages. Sailing fans will be able to follow the boats battling it out
on the seas hour by hour on a giant screen while enjoying the unique and
mythical Martin’s Pale Ale. A marquee will be open to everyone who wants to be
kept up to date with all new developments in the race and with the activities
on dry land.
